The Center of the Political Analysis and Prognosis presents:
“WOMEN-CANDIDATES” FOR PRESIDENCY AS A PUPPET FOR DICTATORS: POST-SOVIET COUNTRIES SPACE

Elections in Belarus and actual presidential campaign in Russia shows the new political tendency, such as using women as alternative, so-called background candidates. Why women are involved into this process, what does it mean for societies? Does it create a better condition for the “elegant victory” for dictators?

We will try to find the answer with experts:

Olga Lavrinenko – Russian political scientist, is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Polish Academy of Science. Center for the Political Analysis and Prognosis.

Veronica Laputska – Research Fellow at EAST Center, PhD Candidate at the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Oleksandra Iwaniuk – Is a PhD candidate at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University specialising in elites’ studies.

Moderator Dr. Pavel Usov.
