“From the cases of patriots to the cases of trade unions” – Belarusian House in Warsaw is organizing the event at OSCE Human Dimension Conference (HDIM OSCE)

OSCE2017 The event will hear the reports on the human rights situation in Belarus and its dynamics. Particular attention will be paid to the street protests in late winter – early spring of this year and large-scale repressions that accompanied them; ‘Cases of the patriots “, when on the eve of the summit of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Minsk mass arrests of dozens of people accused of plotting a “mass disorder “and the creation of “illegal armed formation” occurred. The prosecution of people continues, despite their release; the assessment of the repression against the Belarusian independent trade unions and their leaders will be presented.

On September 16, it will be 18 years since the disappearance of a businessman Anatolii Krasovski and the vice-speaker of the Supreme Council of Belarus, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Viktar Ganchar. This topic does not disappear from the reports on human rights in the UN bodies – the Human Rights Committee, the Committee against Torture, the procedure of the Universal Periodic Review, and others. At this event, the OSCE report will be presented “political disappearances in Belarus: 18 years of struggle for the truth.”
OSCE meeting with the aim to review the implementation of the commitments on the Human Dimension, which the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) organizes every autumn in Warsaw, this year will take place on 11-22 September.
